I don't normally give spells in this newsletter. But this morning I woke up to news that changed that.

The Department of War (and yes, that is what they are calling it now) officially reduced its list of recognized military faiths from over 200 down to 31. Druids, Pagans, Wiccans, Humanists, and dozens of other Earth-centric paths are gone from that list. Removed. Erased from official recognition for the men and women serving in the armed forces who practice them.

This comes on the heels of Pete Hegseth hosting Christian prayer services inside the Pentagon, invoking Scripture publicly to describe the ongoing war in southwest Asia, and announcing plans to make the Chaplain Corps, the body that is supposed to serve service members of all faiths, explicitly Christian in its priorities.

I need you to understand what we are watching. This is not bureaucratic streamlining. This is the systematic erasure of religious minorities from one of the most powerful institutions in the country. And for those of us who know our history, the pattern is familiar.

They have always come for the witches first.

Not always with fire. Sometimes with paperwork. Sometimes with a memo signed quietly and released late at night, hoping nobody notices when they wake up. But the intention is the same: to make us invisible, to strip us of legitimacy, to communicate clearly that our practices are not real religion, that our people do not count, that our presence is a problem to be solved rather than a life to be honored.

I am not willing to be quiet about it.

So here is what I want to give you today. The bones of a working, built on the same scientific principles I teach in the Science of Spellcraft – that focused intention, held in a coherent heart field, is not symbolic. It is causal. It changes the field it moves through. That is not metaphor, that is physics. And you don't have to call yourself a witch to make it work.

The Working

This is for the protection of every witch, pagan, druid, humanist, and spiritual minority serving in the US military. It is also for every marginalized person being systematically erased by this administration. You are casting into a specific field with a specific intention. Bring that clarity with you.

What you need: a black candle for protection and visibility, a white candle for truth and recognition, and something to write with.

Before you begin: Ground yourself. Breathe down into your body and find your feet on the floor. You are not casting from fear or rage alone, though both are valid here. You are casting from the coherent heart field that sits underneath the rage. Find it. That is your power source.

The intention, spoken aloud:

What has been erased is not gone. What has been made invisible is still real. The faith of every service member who prays differently, worships differently, or walks a different path than the one being imposed — it is real, it is recognized by the universe even when the state refuses to be, and it is protected.

Let the harm intended by this action turn back on itself. Let the erasure fail. Let every witch, pagan, druid, and seeker in uniform be held, seen, and shielded by the field we are building right now.

Write a name if you know one. A pagan service member, a witch in the military, anyone specific you are holding. If you don't know anyone personally, write: those whose names I do not know. Burn it or bury it.

Let the candles burn as long as feels right. Add any elements that feel right to you. Close when you are ready.

We have been here before. We are still here. And we are not going anywhere.

Until next time,

Cerissa
