Tomorrow is the summer solstice.

Most people think of it as the peak of summer, the longest day, the fullest sun, the height of everything that's been growing. And it is all of that. But what most people don't know is that many cultures that have honored this day also celebrated it as a moment of release. Not just celebration. The highest fire of the year is the one you bring what you're ready to let go of.

There's something else happening today that feels relevant. Chiron moving out of Aries and into Taurus, which hasn't happened since 1984. Chiron in Aries has spent the last eight years working on identity, on the right to exist as ourselves without apologizing for it. Taurus is different. Taurus asks about the body, about worth, about what it actually feels like to be here, embodied, secure in yourself. It's only a preview right now, Chiron heads back into Aries in September before settling into Taurus for good next spring, but the timing with the solstice isn't nothing. We're being asked to move the healing out of the mind and into the body. Which is exactly what Saturday is for.

That's what I've been preparing for this week in my own practice as well. The solstice as threshold. The peak as the turning point. After tomorrow the days begin to shorten again, slowly, and there's wisdom in using this particular energy to clear before that shift happens.

Saturday at 1pm I'm holding the June ritual meditation. It's a somatic movement meditation blended with the ritual of release, working with the energy of the sun at its peak. We'll move through the body, find what's been sitting there longer than it should, and use the solstice to help it go.

You don't need any prior experience. Just a little space to move and a willingness to be honest about what you're carrying.
